Luke Brancaccio

Luke Brancaccio

Luke Brancaccio is not only a highly skilled DJ, he's also a hugely multi-talented remixer and producer.

Luke has in the past added his own record label, Player One to his long list of musical credentials, in addition to having been signed to numerous labels including Bedrock, Credence and EMI Parlaphone in the UK and Nettwerk in the US.

It is indeed through the release of the track 'Lovely Day' on the former of the three labels, that Luke first saw success as a recording artist in his own right. Lovely Day reached the UK's official Top 40 and also reached Number 1 in the American billboard charts - had dance floors rocking all over the world. The tracks simplistic vocals and harmonic progressive edge soon earned Luke and fellow collaborator, Bruce Aisher recognition as two of the hottest producers in town. As a result, Luke's technical brilliance in the studio soon saw him remixing tracks for the likes of Timmo Maas, Jimmy Van M, James Holden, Prophets Of Sound and Dirty Vegas to name but a few. Another string to his bow was having 3 essential new tunes on Pete Tongs Essential Collection on Radio One. But production skills aside, it's his accomplishment as a DJ, which has also landed Luke such lavish praise from the clubbing fraternity.

He has been a regular guest on Radio One (Annie Nightingales show), Kiss Fm (John Digweed’s show) and various XFM shows where his 2008 XFM mix got voted 2nd best mix of that year. He has played at the DJ Magazine's Top 100 Award's, where he topped the bill and played at the Top 100 party once again with Sasha and Digweed.

He has graced the front cover of DJ Magazine with his band ‘Suicide Sports Club’ where his album “Electric Mistress” saw him as lead vocalist and was critically acclaimed throughout the music industry as being the best indie dance album of its time. It won Number 1 Album of the year in Arena Magazine; Top Ten Albums of the year in DJ Magazine and the list goes on.

Suicide Sports Club headlined at V Festival, alongside bands such as Radiohead and Beck, which for Luke has been a highlight of his career so far.

Luke has been a permanent fixture at the Miami Music Conference and the Russian Sochi Winter Music Conference over the past ten years following his devastating dance floor sets.

Luke has played alongside some of the biggest DJ’s in the world including Sasha, Digweed, BT, Carl Cox, Lauren Garnier, Paul Oakenfold, Tiga, Deadmau5 etc etc on a regular basis. Other notable highlights include three tours of South Africa and a Smirnoff tour to South America. Here Luke held a residency at Creamfields - Buenos Aires, as well as residencies in Brazil and Peru, where at the latter he spun at Orbit in front of 50,000 people! Luke regularly plays in Russia, St Petersburg ‘Fortdance’ and Ukraine’s worldwide famous festival ‘Kazantip’.

Luke's exquisite mixing and unique approach to DJing are just two of his defining characteristics. He plays house right across the board, without ever getting pigeonholed into playing any one genre. A lover of hip-hop and all things dance, Luke simply plays quality dance music. He has earned himself a solid reputation over the years for his ability to captivate any given crowd and with the likelihood of a few little surprise tracks being thrown in for good measure. Luke always commands maximum respect on the dance floor.

In the early stages of his career, Luke secured a number of high profile residencies at clubs that included Bagleys, The Aquarium and the legendary Gardening Club. At 19, Luke moved to L.A to live with Jean-Philippe Aviance from Alcatraz. Having tweaked and fine-tuned his endearing house groove right across the West Coast, Luke returned to London. On his arrival, Luke began his strong affiliation with Bedrock, whilst becoming a permanent fixture at both Renaissance and The End. It was here at The End that Luke soon became the resident at KHZ, his own night. KHZ was a massively popular monthly event, where guests of the caliber of Danny Howells, Sander Kleinenberg and Freq Nasty would regularly play for him. Luke was also making big waves across the continent, where he played at Kremlin (Amsterdam), The Bakery (Poland), Fire (Italy) and Screen (Finland).

Over the last few years Luke has been concentrating on his DJ + Producing career, new tunes and remixes coming out 2010. Also on the promotion side of things he is maintaining success with his infamous Starfucker nights.

To bring this profile up to date Luke is about to take up a residency at the world famous and hugely acclaimed ‘Silent Noise’ in Southern Goa, India this December 2009. He is looking forward to living in this part of the world and the next chapter beginning.
